This week, I was very kindly invited by the #Boohoo team to their Autumn/Winter 2018 Press Event, held at The Vinyl Factory in Soho. For those of you who don’t know what a press day is, it's an occasion where a brand (beauty, fashion or otherwise) show off their new collection for the upcoming season and give press, bloggers and buyers a sneak preview of what's to come!
The whole event definitely had a relaxed, party feel to it. The music was loud, the drinks were flowing, there were some crazy dance moves flying around, and everyone seemed to be having a really good time!
On the topic of drinking, what drink would you pick from this list? (They are all free btw!) - I went with the 'Raspberry Blush' pretty much all night, and let's just say, it did the trick; aka I'm writing this with a hangover!
So anyway, one of the first things that I noticed about the AW18 Boohoo Collection is how edgy it is, but at the same time, incredibly wearable. The upcoming collection has some great one off statement pieces, using some really fun textures like tassels, lurex, faux leather, suede etc. There was also some really bright and bold colourful pieces for the party season, with key colours being gold, silver, cobalt blue and red.
Prices were reasonable as always - there was a fantastic metallic batwing jumpsuit with a plunge neckline which was just £22! That one's definitely going to be on my wish list once it hits the website later on this year.
Boohoo also had on display some of their make up line, (which is still pretty new for them as they only launched it back in 2017) which included new liquid highlighter colours, powder eye shadows and an array of lip liners and lip sticks. Basically everything you need for a dewy day look or full coverage for a night out.
Not gonna lie, I may have lost a Mac or two in my life. Because, y’know, prosecco gets the better of me! So at £4, Boohoo’s lippies are a good alternative to take with you on a night out, and good news, colours range from matte red to sophisticated nude! Woohoooo!
So as some of you may know, when you get invited to a press event, its generally polite to wear something from the brand.
I'm pretty much on the boohoo.com website every week so it doesn't usually take me too long to find something I want to buy! So for this event I went with a pink blazer from Boohoo, my trusty River Island jeans, and a pair of perspex Kimmy K inspired heels from Public Desire.
I love networking, all press events are completely different and even if some aren’t all glam and exciting, it’s incredible looking at new collections and meeting new people! However, for the record I can confirm the #Boohoo event was pretty god damn glam!
Many thanks to the Boohoo team for the invitation and their brilliant organisation of this lovely event. I had an amazing night, and my head is paying for it this morning! You can check out Boohoo's full collection here.
